History
In 1949 The Village Hall was established in a building originally erected as “The Witches’ Barn cafe”. Next door was a Nissen hut which was used as a canteen by Land Army girls during the war.
Legal requirements regarding the use of the Village Hall did not permit the consumption of alcohol on the premises, so the hut next door became the “Barn Club” as a social venue – hence the current name and witch’s hat logo!
In 1962 the Barn Club moved to newly built premises next to the village hall, which have since been enlarged.
